San Francisco Bay Area Gifted Homeschoolers

Welcome to San Francisco Bay Area Gifted Homeschoolers (SFBAGHS).

We are a group of families homeschooling intellectually gifted children in the San Francisco Bay area. We share resources, organize real-life get-togethers, and serve as a local support network for families navigating the exciting and sometimes turbulent place where giftedness meets homeschooling.

We have various gatherings in different areas within our range. One of these is a monthly presentation day in Redwood City, centrally located to our Bay area members, who live within a one-hour radius. We usually have a holiday gathering in December and a group picnic in April or May. Individual members organize various field trips, classes, and park days. We encourage all members to organize the types of gatherings they want to have, and we expect all members to find ways to participate in the group in real life. We maintain a mailing list, a shared calendar, and a private Web site.

We welcome San Francisco Bay area families who are interested in helping us create a thriving community of families with gifted children who learn at home, and who enjoy getting together with others. We prefer that we all know each other, and we favor a small group of local and involved members rather than a larger, less participatory group. If you would like to participate in our group, please see our Membership Request page.
