San Francisco Bay Area Gifted Homeschoolers

Welcome to San Francisco Bay Area Gifted Homeschoolers (SFBAGHS).

We are a group of families homeschooling intellectually gifted children in the San Francisco Bay area. We share resources, organize real-life get-togethers, and serve as a local support network for families navigating the exciting and sometimes turbulent place where giftedness meets homeschooling.

We have a monthly gathering in Redwood City, which is centrally located to our Bay area members, who live within a one-hour radius. Individual members organize various field trips, classes, and get-togethers. We maintain a Google Group that includes private Web pages and a mailing list. We share a Google calendar as well as a member database.

We welcome San Francisco Bay area families who are interested in helping us create a thriving community of families with gifted children who learn at home, and who enjoy getting together with others. We prefer that we all know each other, and we favor a small group of local and involved members rather than a larger, less participatory group. If you would like to participate in our group, please see our Membership Request page.

Real-Life Gatherings
We have a monthly gathering at a park and community center in the mid-Peninsula area. There are also more frequent local park days arranged by various members. We have a "presentation day" most months, in which students share computer-based presentations they have developed on their own research topics. We have a holiday gathering in December, and an annual picnic in May. Various members organize field trips, classes, and other group activities. We encourage all members to organize the types of gatherings they want to have, and we expect all members to find ways to participate in the group in real life.
